Fishermen's Cup
One hundred years ago, Sir Thomas Lipton commissioned a match between some of the best sailors and schooners of the day in a race from Boston to Gloucester and back again. Provincetown’s Rose Dorothea, a schooner that is now honored by a half-scale replica in the Provincetown Library, won the Lipton Cup handily, leaving little room for doubt about where the swiftest schooner fleet took harbor in 1907.

The Great Provincetown Schooner Regatta Races are organized with expertise supplied by the venerable Provincetown Yacht Club, one of the oldest yacht clubs in America.
If the burgee looks familiar it's because the Provincetown Yacht Club was organized in 1867 by members of the prestigious New York Yacht Club who loved to race in our magnificent harbor.
